This website design is my attempt at recreating the discontinued cgoban KGS client, inspired by https://coolpeopleroom.neocities.org/. I played a lot of Go online through KGS during my high school days. In the KGS client, the current tab (room) was light grey and all other tabs were dark grey, as in this website. But moreover--if any messages were sent in a different room, its tab would become bright blue! I'm pretty sure there's no need to implement this feature in a static website.
I read a lot of manga. Some recommendations:
Blue Period, Yamaguchi Tsubasa. The series follows an oil painting student. Especially in more recent years--this series has the best representation of the intersections between art, society and individual that I have seen in any media.
Ikoku Nikki, Yamashita Tomoko. A girl's parents die and she moves in with her estranged aunt. This series has the most thoughtful and kind depictions of relationship dynamics and neurodivergence that I've ever seen.
Akane Banashi, Suenaga Yuki + Moue Takamasa. This series follows Akane on her journey of becoming a rakugo performer. By far my favourite manga that is/has been serialized in Jump in recent history. Essentially a "sports manga", but the unfamiliar setting drew me in.
Hinamatsuri, Ohtake Masao. A yakuza member adopts a girl with telekinetic powers. I just think the manga is hilarious.
Soil, Kaneko Atsushi. Two cops investigate a supernatural event. Hard to explain, but very unique.
Hikaru no Go, Hotta Yumi + Obata Takeshi. Hikaru meets a ghost Go player and learns the game. This manga influenced me to learn Go, and it evolved into a life-long casual hobby.
Look Back, Fujimoto Tatsuki. Two manga artists strive to improve their craft. This is a very short one shot, but I've cried at least three times every time I've read it.
My immediate family* has nine extant members. We are spread all over the globe. I am in red, my family members are in orange.
*By immediate family, I mean my grandparents and all of their descendants (and their descendants' spouses).
